The Walk

The Walk

It was a Wednesday morning. There was a certain excitement in the air as we got on the bus for a special trip to the local park. We were anticipating many things as we pulled into the parking lot.
There was to be water testing and writing poems of  what we see. But, to get from place to place we had to walk, and this is what  I found to be most fun throughout the day. The walk in the park was filled with beautiful sights, smells, and feelings.

With each step we saw beauty. The sun peering through the tree branches, as if playing a game with me. The leaves blowing in the air, filled with joy and excitement to be free from the branches that kept them imprisoned in there grasp. And the water gently flowing down the river.

We felt the earth in our walk. The detail of the laves that could have only been made by a being superior of human kind. We felt the soft grass swaying back and forth with the cool crisp morning breeze, tickling our hands and toes. We ran our hands along the tree bark, feeling all the rough edges of the old wise tree, each curve of the bark telling an ancient story.

Our ears were greeted with a symphony of crickets, flowing water and chirping birds. We heard the wind acting like a conductor to all the noise. The leaves crunching every where we stepped, as if telling the animals were on our way.

The walk in the park was truly full of sights, smells, and feelings.

Couple weeks ago we went to a Morehouse park, a local park in our city. The park has features such as a river going through the middle of the park, lots of trees, a woodland trail, and a small waterfall.

One of the activities we did was take pictures of something called the Fibonacci sequence. the Fibonacci sequence  is certain patterns in nature. Here are some examples of pictures we took.

Some other things we did Was take angles of trees, write poems about what we saw, took water quality tests for the DNR, And talked about why people first settled in our town.
Notice some of the pictures of the Fibonacci sequence, see all the paterns. Now take the leaf and look at all the lines and curves of nature.

One more thing we did  was take photos of  things that would be here 10 years 100 years and 10,000
Here are some examples.

SO that was the main theme of our trip patterns, and details in nature because nature is a work of art.
